The Metropolitan State University of Denver Communication Arts and Sciences Reception is a 400 square foot renovation project in Central Classroom. The waiting area, reception desk and student workstations were updated for ADA purposes as well as branding identity. In working with the fantastic CAS staff, we became aware that the department wanted an accessible and dynamic greeting area to make their students and staff feel welcome and create an environment where natural communication and collaboration could occur. The existing "bowling alley" of the reception area was updated with new finishes and modular lounge seating. This area was demarcated by a solid color carpet inlay and a wood panel wall feature for warmth and to create a background for future signage. The various wall paint colors throughout the suite are now uniformly painted either white or a dark blue - in line with the school colors - and to create a more sophisticated, cohesive background.
